Psalms 31:9-16

Year A -Passion Sunday or Premature Fear Sunday
April 13, 2014

Distress: a life spent with sorrow and sighing. Entropy wins, again and again. If we don’t trip over a palm branch today, we will tomorrow. And if not today or tomorrow, overmorrow. In any case, three days hence draws us closer to death and no parade will stop its march.

It is important to face this dread prophecy that it might be borne and we, with it, carried over its reality.

With death as our advisor, we enter a new week. Anticipating the worst, we still breathe and move forward in trust that the coming black hole will have its wormhole through which we might crawl into a new Eden. And, surprising enough, with or without an out, we proceed anyway.

Is this trust or inertia? Either way, we live as best we can with what we have.
